چکیده

a spectrum of disease. In a small number of patients, the presence of pulmonic stenosis (congenital or acquired by pulmonary artery banding in infancy), a small ventricular septal defect, or a large atrial septal defect was not protective against the development of severe PVD. The findings of this study demonstrate the need for thorough hemodynamic evaluation of patients with complete transposition of the great arteries prior to repair by present technics. In addition, operation should probably be performed as soon as technically feasible.

A 33-day-old Infant with the Transposition of the Great Arteries; A Rare Case Report

Dextro-transposition of the great arteries (d-TGA) is the one most common cyanotic congenital heart disease in neonates. The discordant ventriculoarterial arrangement results in parallel circulation, it so is vital to understand the management. We report a rare interesting but critical case of 33-day-old boy who developed cyanosis and had transposition of great arteries combined with interrupte...

Quantitative analysis of pulmonary vascular disease in complete transposition of the great arteries.

Forty autopsy cases of complete transposition of the great arteries (TGA) and 22 autopsy cases of ventricular septal defect (VSD) were analyzed histologically for evidence of vascular damage due to pulmonary vascular disease (PVD). Positive correlations were generally observed between an index of pulmonary vascular disease (IPVD) and blood pressure of pulmonary circulation. No significant diffe...

Pulmonary vascular disease in neonates with transposition of the great arteries and intact ventricular septum.

BACKGROUND Progressive pulmonary vascular disease in surgically unrepaired transposition of the great arteries with or without ventricular septal defect had been frequently described in the past. Occurrence of progressive pulmonary vascular disease has been reported even after atrial switch procedure done at three months of age. With the advent of neonatal surgical repair, this problem is virtu...

Development of the coronary arteries in a murine model of transposition of great arteries.

Transposition of great arteries in humans is associated with a wide spectrum of coronary artery patterns. However, no information is available about how this pattern diversity develops. We have studied the development of the coronary arteries in mouse embryos with a targeted mutation of perlecan, a mutation that leads to ventriculo-arterial discordance and complete transposition in about 70% of...

Pulmonary vascular disease in transposition of the great vessels and intact ventricular septum.

Eight of 135 (6%) children with d-transposition of the great vessels and with intact ventricular septum and no patent ductus arteriosus had evidence of progressive pulmonary vascular disease. Seven of 101 (7%) patients for whom histologic data was available, had Heath-Edwards grades IV or V pulmonary vascular disease, six had grade II, and 88 had either normal or grade I findings. One of 34 pat...
